I feel guilty that I never actually finish things that I post on here. Everything I start gets put on the side because I'm always so busy  and it gets lost in my files and I never have a chance to continue them :( I've just started on this (no promises on seeing it getting finished) fanart of Brian Patrick Carrol (a.k.a Buckethead) that incorporates perspective/vanishing-point. It's in extremely wip stages and I mainly want advice with the proportions and perspective.

I think the big confounding factor making it look weird is the hand and base of guitar. They don't distort right like the legs, like the hand would be way smaller and the guitar would twist a bit towards the vanishing point. Try to draw some guidelins from the feet out and work from there

I did make some guidelines though, they just don't show in the wip image.

I don't have a mouse at hand, right now, so I went the lazy way and used the perspective transform tool to try and adjust the body of the guitar a bit.

I've started to outline and shade him. Started at his right arm.

Definitely looking better now, hand still seems to be ignoring perspective though. Pinky would be smaller, for example.

@MysteryMeat

I've noticed that before, but I can't make it adhere to perspective even more without making it look weird.

more progress

Sometimes drawing within a box helps...

Oh! Actually, looking at it again another factor might be that the legs aren't far back enough, it makes it look sort of like he's bending over a bit when the line of action would have him bending backwards! Try to move his feet further under him!
