Here is a 64x64 egg with a monster inside.

Any critique appreciated! Especially about colors

First of all, I can't decide if this egg is solid like normal hen egg, but painted blue and green or this is transparent, jelly- looking egg. I think you wanted to make second one because of embryo, but it don't look like this.

Maybe you should delete outlines inside egg and make one or two colors between green and blue? Probably making good lights and darker colors on one side of egg should help it.

But colors are really good I think.

The egg is supposed to be a transparent, jelly-looking egg. I tried to make it more apparent and deleted the outlines on the inside.

Is it better now?

Oh, wow! How many colors did you use on that? I just read that when drawing transparent objects the shadow color should be opposite where you would put it normally. Is that incorrect?

Looks like 8 colors + trans. As for what you read, it is a yes/no situation. For the inside of a hollow object, the lighting will be close to inverted, but a transparent object with no set background will have no certain coloring scheme so you will have to take a few artistic liberties to make it look interesting by adding in bubbles or debris or something (or leave it as a solid cluster to make it readable and clean).

So i made the contrast a little lower, added some bubbles and background and made the colors of the egg closer to the background.
