Anime sprites

on: July 28, 2016, 12:59:11 am
Hi there,
I'm working on a set of sprites in a simple, colourful anime style.

I haven't really worked with pixels in that way before, so I have a lot of concerns. I hope the style is consistent.
I also struggle a lot with the shading, I don't know if I should do some dithering between, so it would look smoother?

Suggestions and critique appreciated.

These sprites are looking great! I like the colors you used.
The style seems consistent to me (exept the dithering on the 3rd one)
I would suggest to not use dithering as I like the way you shaded it (exept the shirt on the 2nd sprite's shirt. I think it looks weird but that might just be me)

The lack of animalistic features on the girl seem out of tune with the rest of it, makes her design feel a bit fanservicy when the other two animal people are closer to their animal roots designways.
Not necessarily a bad thing, but something to keep cognizant of.

I agree with Pusty about the dithering thing. It seems pretty "out" compared to the others characters, and (i think) it jump really to the eyes.

The girl reminds me so much of Neco Arc from Melty Blood :)
