Try walking in your room : not only your legs move. The head pops up and down, the arms go front and back etc etc...

The same mistake twice is a bad habit.
The same mistake three or more times is a motif.

Did you actualy read them? You should know what we're going to say, you'd be dumb if you couldnt recognize whats wrong, so try to fix it. We can crit your attempts.

His knees are so high they might as well be in his stomach try to make the thighs longer.

I suggest you get your pixelling skills down before you attempt animation. Right now, the character itself is lacking many fundamental aspects, and once you get down anatomy, shading, etc, animation should be much easier to understand and correct.
Good luck.

This isn't one of my best works, i'll admit. But the shading and proportions are temporary until i have a decent walk cycle down. I'll submit some of my other work tomorrow, cant be bothered now.

Edit : And i'd also appreciate comments related to the art, before you generally flame me as an artist.

There's no flaming going on here, just honest critique. In fact, you should probably not bother with anything but lineart until you've got the animation done the way you want it. Use either a stick figure, or rough outlines, colors and shading show up after you feel good about the actual animation. So try starting with that, and use those tutorials, they're not just for fun!
