You might want to make the egg a different or lighter color because it just looks like one big purple rock instead of an egg on a rock.

You've got some pretty heavy pillow shading going on there. It makes the egg look very flat rather than round. Here's a quick'n'dirty edit. I made the pedestal a bit more claw-like, and changed the colours around a little. I also made the egg smaller so the whole thing would fit within the original dimensions instead of going off the side. Don't be afraid of contrast and of picking a light source.

Some thoughts:
More contrast!
Work on the readability. I have no idea what's going on D: The colors are too similar.

Contrast is basically the difference between two or more colors, if put very simply.

Left has high contrast with the background, the right color has low contrast with the background.

In Art, and pixelart especially you are rather limited by how much you can put on the screen. So more contrast is generally better because it helps with defining things and readability. (I'm sorry if this is wrong, but that's how I understood it)

ah i think i understand so basically it just means colors that are very different from each other. will will try to reduce the colors on my dragon egg and use more defining ones ( XD i never thought i would learn so much from drawing an egg ) also how is my dithering?
