Basic player base

on: June 24, 2016, 08:58:41 pm
So I've made this for a game I'm planning. Players can customize this base in the game with armor, weapons, and colors.
Here's the thing. I didn't go back and make the background transparent, but I will eventually.

What do you think?
It's still an early prototype.

Looks great so far!

You don't really have to make it transparent as of now because it is just a wip and not a final product, so it shouldn't really matter right now.

The main issues I seem to have found in your sprite is sloppy pixelling and lack of good form. Stark 2x outlines can look very good, but it won't really look that way if it's executed pretty sloppily, as it is shown in your sprite currently. Next the form looks really uncomfortable, his arms are swinged right behind his body, he looks as if he's slumped over and his legs are too far apart, It may just be me, but I wouldn't want to stay in this pose for a very long time.

The main things I changed in my edit are:
- I put his right (our left) arm to the front.
- I closed the gap between the legs a bit.
- I moved his head back a bit, to give him a bit more proper posture; and
- I cleaned and refined the stark outline.

Hope this helps!

Thank you! I've never gotten criticism from anyone because no one ever sees my pixel art.
Where can I find tutorials that help me with 2x outlines?
