i feel the pepper is too "pinkish" for a pepper and there's not enough light, looks more like a beetroot right now

Did pretty much a complete re-do almost of the entire thing. You said it looked too pink so I implemented more red as well as purple shadows and yellow highlights to make it pop out more .o. also changed its shape a little to have more space to avoid incorrect shading and tried this time to make more light!

If you look at a pepper, they are actually quite shiny and reflective. The highlight in your old pepper shows that quite well. First thing you can do is to make the shape a big more interesting and maybe up the contrast if you want. While it isn't technically inaccurate, straight lines along with desaturated colors can really dull out a small piece. I know for some people using something like pure white or near pure white can be intimidating because it stands out significantly, but toying around with the hues leading up to the highlight can make it look proper.

Don't have too much time to do much of a pepper myself since it is almost 3 in the morning, but this is a bit of what I mean. A lot of contrast, reflected light and a more blobular(probably not a word) shape. I also exaggerated the contrast on the stem greatly since it was so small and it would be difficult to make out the details without some more extreme contrast or hue shifting.

Ta-daaaaa  ;D took me some hours but-!

I took your advice and also studied the colors on your peppers as well! I kinda re-did the whole pepper made it more bobular so to speak and made it more red instead of a pink.
Also shifted the hue and saturation a bit because I noticed it was a bit too bright.

Honestly, im very proud of this pepper this time.

Hm, I suggest not to post this at 2x, it makes it harder to edit and I did hear someone yesterday say that small limiting factor discouraged them from doing so. Regardless of how little time it takes to scale it back down..

The latest one looks a lot better. The rim lighting on the right side starts to band against the outline, though. It makes it ook like there's a raised lip on the side of the pepper instead of describing surface you'd expect.

@Atnas
Posted it this time at original size and removed the rim lighting. Any better?
