Your lighting should follow the contours of the guys body and hat. They shouldnt ever contradict or run-over the contours. Like the hat seems to bow, but the light tone is just straight, and your darkest tone borders the entire hat. On the body there are ribs, but their expression is absent in the brightest tone.

Also, avoid outlining things. On the hat and the body your darkest tone outlines the entire shape. You dont need to do that.

Would you like me to do an edit on your piece to show you what I mean?

Here ya go. By the way, you can click any image on pixelation to zoom in, you dont need to blow it up (I had to un-blow your image up to start working on it).

Can you see what I mean by 'avoid outlining things'? Nothing in my edit is outlined. The blue body isnt surrounded by a dark blue border, nor the hat a dark brown border. The hat is just a mass of brown, that is brighter or darker in different areas. Similarly I removed the dark brown border around the hats ribbon, and I aligned the ribbons shading with the hats.

EDIT:

Oh an also, I adjusted the color palette on the hat. I made the colors much closer together in terms of brightness.
