Yay thanks for the domain.

Actually I think I still remember you registering that a while ago, heh.
Wasnt it when the DS was still brand new or something?
Either way, much appreciated

swoo.net was the original server for pixelation. It was the domain of Tsugumo and FrozenEmu I believe. Tsugumo wrote the original pixel art primer tutorial and made the original boards, and it would be well if people who are on pixelation now knew about him, or remembered him and his extremely significant contributions to the internet pixel art scene. He is an awesome guy and I can only hope he's doing okay.

Yup, I still remember swoo.net, cjb.net, web41t.net (or whatever)! But I never knew much about that other website, with the competitions and all. It also hosted a few tutorials done by zoggles. Anyone know what website I'm talking about? Pixelrealm or something?

[edit] I think it was Pixel-Zone.

yeah pixel zone..
it was a site zoggles had made which allowed people to upload and rate pixel-art and have them ranked and such and there were activities as well..
Zoggles was revamping the site, but never finished and eventually moved to china or japan If i remember correctly, to do pixel work for a company.

Zoggles was mainly known for his isometric work.

I hope Zoggles is doing well too, along with Tsugumo.  This is getting off topic but I was looking through a Nintendo magazine a while back and saw screens of a game that looked strangely familiar, then I checked it out and sure enough it was by the company Tsugumo was at last, BigBlueBubble.  look at http://www.bigbluebubble.com/console_games/?id=17 for what I'm positive is some of his stuff.

Why did tsugumo leave?  Perhaps try contacting him to return, so he can see how the place has developed.

I missed the whole swoo thing. Jumped in when cjb.net was the url.

Irony was, at the time I was making a lot of pixel art but never posted any.

He's still here; if you check his profile you'll notice that he was last logged in a week ago.  He just hasn't posted in a year ;)

This is easier to explain with teletype so:

h t t p : / / w w w . p i x e l a t i o n 2 . c o m
h t t p : / / w w w . p i x e l - a r t s . o r g

It's actually shorter. Just in case you didn't figure it out (I did by accident) it redirects you straight to the forum.

Hehe, nice tt. I don't think the index of this url will forever point to the forum. At one point, there might be a site as well. (Like there used to be one.) And some people tend to remember "pixelation2" easier than.. what was it? pixelarts.com? pixelarts.org? pixel-arts.net? pixels-arts.org? No no no no nono nonono.. it's just "www.pixelation2.com". Hehe.

Anyway, it's merely an act of kindness, so thank him!

I used that random long url too.  It was http://web1.t43.greatnet.de; you were close ;)  Anyway, thanks for the url, but I'll just use a bookmark anyway :P

ah, it's by no means a competition. I registered the domain because it was there, and easy to remember.

kinda a useless bump, but thanks for the pixelation2 link, pixel-arts.org (which i always used) was slightly annoying because of the hyphen. me no likey the shift key!

German keyboard layout? that's the only one I recall offhand that requires the use of shift to produce a -.. It seems strange to me not to have all the basic arithmetic symbols available without shifting.
If you insist on being pessimistic about your own abilities, consider also being pessimistic about the accuracy of that pessimistic judgement.

You don't need shift for a - with the german layout. Just btw :)
