Run cycle.

on: March 16, 2016, 06:21:34 pm
Pretty standard run cycle.
Looking for critique.

As a side note, should I add the swishy thingy to the legs. Here is an example of what I mean by PixelPileDriver:

Those are called animation smears, and are best used when you have to make extreme movements. Try one with and without, decide which looks better.

I think your run cycle looks fine without the leg swish. Maybe add a few more frames on the leg extension. and try to fix the shoulder exaggeration. The movement is okay, but the shape doesn't appear to be the same at some frames.

Hi. :3

More running girls, yay!

Same advice as to Wzl. Mostly the hair bit.

I moved the chest a little and the shoulders a lot up (and then down when behind her), as well as shortening the dress where appropriate (that sentence makes no sense without context).
Made the run cycle more extreme by just moving things more really. :P

Tried to implement your suggestions. Things are shaping up, no where near happy with the hair still.

it's probably because it's billowing kind of frantically there. While that's pretty accurate to how hair moves in high wind, it might help it look better to have it act like a cape.

A handy trick I learned once for that is to imagine three balls rotating in a triangle formation, pushing the cloth (or in this case, hair) as it rotates.

I tired MysteryMeat. :[ Looks a bit better I think. Thanks.
Also added a quick, "quick turn" phase.

I think while she is turning she should incline herself to the left and lower her center of gravity to keep her balance. Here's an example of what I mean (also I added an extra frame).

Be happy! ^^

nice work on the running animation with the legs

I think you should go for a whip-wave animation on the hair. Currently it feels all over the place
