Back from hiatus, just remembered how excellent this community is at forming technique in a fledgeling artist of any kind.

Wow, what terrible palettes!  What where the restrictions for the first? I don't want to suggest things you cannot do.
How long can the floor creak before it loses its voice?

complaining about your post hawken:
we may be metal, but using so little colors and learning how to deal with dithering/anti-aliasing with so little colors takes a lot of work and eye for values in the colors.  I suggest you take one of these palettes and make something out of it.  post it here and see how it works.

With a 4 colours to work with, dithering can give you a lot more to do with your picture, and if you can pull it off, make it seem like a bit more. Or at least, make it smooth things out between two distant colours.
AAing? Probably not as likely, but possible.
I don't know what's mental about it. *shrug*

About the stuff, not much I can say about them, they look like weapons to me. Though the light sword looks crooked, or at least one side isn't even with the other. Dunno if that was your intention.

no I mean with such a restricted palette why is it even worth mentioning? One should do these things automatically. I guess I'm just complaining about stating the obvious.

Yes I already enter the palette challenges  :P
