Subtracting from Selection in Graphics Gale

on: February 06, 2016, 05:34:22 am
Hi Guys, I found a simple workaround to subtracting from selections in Graphics Gale and I thought I'd share:

I don't know if everyone has the same hot keys as me since I changed mine in the preferences menu, I have my invert selection set to "Ctrl + I" and add to selection by holding shift while using the rectangular selection tool

I've been using gale for a decade and didn't figure this out til recently. There's a lot of things about this program that are hidden or require a hacky approach. Poor Cyangmou was slaving away on Tower57 animations without having the 2nd and 3rd boxes checked.

I keep this bookmarked, they slip in a lot of good features hidden in menus. https://graphicsgale.com/files/historyUS.txt

This will come in very handy.

I only recently found the stuff under the layer menu dropdown that lets you control a layer (based on the layer name) over all frames, properties and visibility. Saved me a lot of hassle.

We need to pull PixelPileDriver's Graphics Gale tutorials and update/expound upon them. Maybe make up a wiki or something? I fear that without such, posts like this will eventually become buried.

Good posts.  :)
There's lots of little things like this about Graphics Gale that take a bit of digging to find.

A wiki would be a great idea.
I have some other good GG tips I haven't taken the time to share.
And I bet others do as well.
