Mega Lucario Sprite [WIP]

on: January 15, 2016, 05:10:13 pm
Hey guys, I'm new to this forum but I've been pixeling for a while now. I used to pixel a lot in my younger years (now 21) and my interest has been renewed. This sprite was drawn by me last night, I used the official art & others on google images as references to try to get the line art authentic to the character. Right now all i have is line art and basic color, I have yet to do any shading. I would like some feedback on the work so far before I proceed to shading. Thanks guys, I look forward to being a part of this online forum!   :)

If you're trying to match the pokémon style, I think you're still relying on your outlines just a tad too much. Otherwise, I think you've matched it quite well. Maybe volumes aren't represented super well yet. Do you have a reference you're using?

like Gil said, the outline is a bit strong, I think Pokemon sprites usually have a more dithered outline

I don't think dithered is the word there. The selective outlining follows the lighter area most of the time (outline of lighter areas are much lighter). You have the idea to a degree, but it should probably be a bit more emphasized.
