Pixel art assets needed for non-profit student project

on: January 02, 2016, 08:29:30 pm
1. Company title and/or individual representing and offering employment.

My name's Derek and I'm with SPARK App League (http://sparkappleague.com).  We're a non-profit from Gilbert, Arizona that focuses on teaching students how to program and code apps and games.

2. Project title.

The assets we're requesting are for our Game Jam event where students will have 24 hours to create a game using the skills they've learned.

3. Description of company or project.

The assets we need are any combination of the following:
  • 10 Backgrounds - 640x480 - based on locations in or around Gilbert, AZ - We'll provide the images that need to be "pixelized"
  • 10 "Overworld" maps of the town - low detail - mostly roads - top down that could be used as a race course or map
  • 5-10 Buildings - either front view or iso view - useful for an RPG or a platformer
  • 5 Characters - Basic animations needed (walk, jump, "attack) - local characters - we'll provide the images
  • 5-10 Vehicles - Police cars, fire trucks, government vehicles, etc. - No animations except maybe a tire that we can rotate on them

The event is in April 2016, so we have a few months to prepare these assets.  We don't have a huge budget, but we're looking for volunteers first and then looking to pay once we can.  We will only be paying people who volunteer first.

4. Talent/Position requirements.

No requirements, but we'd like to see a portfolio or some samples in advance.

5. Payment.

$500 - $1000 dollars.  We will also be posting this in the paid section so pieces of it maybe fulfilled by others.

6. Contact information.

7. Whether the position is local only.

Not local.  We work via Google Hangouts for most of our projects.

Any other questions or problems, feel free to PM me or email me.  Thanks!!
