[C+C]Game Art

on: August 01, 2015, 02:42:49 am
Hello to everyone reading this:
This is my first post and I wanted to show a few of my
pixel images which are designed for a game I am working on.
I am quite satisfied with them so I won't update them
but I would like some criticism so my future artworks
won't look so bad  :)

My game tiles

A tree I worked on long

The main character moving animation

A random picture I would like to improve

Screenshot of the game so you can see the textures working together

Everything in your image appears to use differing pixel sizes. Before anything else, I highly recommend unifying the size of the pixels you'll be using.

Ok,  I am currently using 16px for the game but I wasn't able to make a good looking 16px tree.
And the random image was just something I did for fun.
But I will try to unify the pixel size the game is using, thanks for your comment.

Does bumping work like this? O:
Am I even allowed to do it?
I don't want to be annoying but I would really like some more criticism
because I'm not too sure if I'm doing something gravely wrong ^^

You basically said you're satisfied and aren't going to update them. That's like a heads up to every potential critiquer that their efforts will be wasted. In addition you haven't posted any updates... what's the incentive for anyone to help if you aren't going to do any work?

Well I guess I haven't thought about that. I feel a bit stupid now

But anyways I think you are right so I will show what I made last week
and if anyone says how to improve it I will try to update what I already made (if anybody cares that is)

Animation of the first enemy I made

Animation of a fireball (I am not too happy about it but I don't know how to make better fire)

Animation of a Portal (only 2 frames for now, I am most likely going to redo it)

updates doesn't mean post more separate pieces, it means u revisit the original piece and improve it as per suggestions.
u have a long way to go literally infinite opportunity to improve but no point going there until u fix something as simple as mixed resolutions.

Well I misunderstood that one , sorry for that
but anyways I worked a bit on the pictures I should have updated lol

I tried to unify the pixel size so the tree is now 64x64

(I spend literally hours on pixeling trees and realised I'm
faaaar away from making an actual good looking tree.
So I just readjusted the size)

As well I learned a few things by reading through the forum and tried to use them on my tileset:
I tried to use more then one grass tile so it doesn't look so plane
And I tried to make the hight difference more clear by using different textures

Note: The texture I used as dirt is just a placeholder as my time was limited

Screenshot of the game:
