My post isn't meant to take shots at you for comedic relief.
It just reflects the ridiculous ambiguity of your questions with similar questions.
But I completely understand where you are coming from and why you are seeking some sort of general truth.
You want to "work smarter, not harder" right?

Quote
I have had countless ideas that I started to develop and just could not finish due to lack of resources and time
Scale back your ideas.
Scope is a huge killer of projects.
Acquiring more resources and time until you have just enough is generally not an option.
You need to be able to control your ambition and create bite sized pieces of a bigger whole.
Get more acquainted with process.

As for your good idea, "general appeal" has some importance to its context?
Perhaps you want to make multiple sales of the same assets to a variety of people?
And you are afraid to make it too distinct so it will better blend with other assets?
Or something else?
I won't keep guessing at what it is so you can keep it under your hat.
Honestly, I truly hope it works out for you.

I don't doubt your artistic value or determination.
You have decent enough skill currently, and a lot of potential for the future.
But you are confused.
And that will really just take time to smooth out.
At your age you are just beginning down the path.
And knowing that it is, we seek what it is... ~ Aristotle, Posterior Analytics, Chapter 1

I wasn't joking about China but also I don't have any stats to back it up its just a hunch.
Not sure that Steam stats really reflect China game sales since they have their own ways of doing things.
Japan would be up there too and would probably have more appreciation for stylish pixel art but you can make many kinds of sprites using pixel art as the medium.

Original questions were definitely too vague though so I have the broadest answers I could think of.
I think it would be worth considering other mediums while ur at it.
Ask urself..why pixel art vs vector/digital painting/3d?
