on: June 09, 2015, 04:21:12 pm
Hello guys. I'm developing a game on Rpg maker 2003.
I would like some comments about the graphics i'm making. O don't know maybe tell me if it's a good level.

Thanks.

I dig the outlines, very Yoshi's Island in style, but darker. The only issue I really have is the shading, everything is basically pillow shaded.

You'll need to post the assets to get any decent critique though, we can't really analyze blurry YT pixels and worst of all, no edits!

The learning curve to do full screen images in pixel art is pretty steep.
But u could continue this comic/cartoon style blend drawn with pixels (not rly a traditional pixel art).
pillow shading absolutely the biggest problem.
just like using a 3d rendering program, u must define ur light sources for every scene.
generally make ur main light source from above and off to the side.

if ur going to continue having outlines for backgrounds consider only using black on sprites and backgrounds get shades of a dark desaturated colour which fades to less contrast for more distant layers.

post some assets and scree shots I'll show u ( don't post anything upscaled just 1:1)
