(WIP) Scene/Portraits

on: May 03, 2015, 09:12:35 pm

Not much to say I am really looking for advice on the background simply because I want it done perfectly.

Could you please elaborate a bit more on what you want show in this scene?
Your technique is not bad, so I'd suggest to keep going at it! :)

Well basically you have two dictators and in the middle of the scene is a bright silhouette which symbolizes resistance. I originally made the 2 portraits and had nothing to do with them.

You could fill the bottom half with soldiers and tanks, marching through.
Keep the silhouette on the upper half to symbolize someone standing up to them/standing up for his or her ideals (Maybe make people "look up" to him/her).

Curious to see what you will come up with!

So much troubles with the soldiers...

Some nitpicking would be awesome.

EDIT:

I am going to do some finishing touches if you want to nitpick, nitpick now

I envisioned way more happening in the foreground like this quick edit:

I don't know if you wanted to show both the armies fighting each other? you could also have one side be regular people and one side the army.

Thats the plan, I find it really hard to make small people tho. Thanks for the edit.

NECROBUMP

I was messing with some old stuff, don't do pixel art much anymore but I would have to say after not doing much for so long I've improved quite a bit. Observation matures perhaps.

Just here to opinion farm on the top half of the piece, I'm happy with what I've done with the bottom half. Not really with the statue in the middle felt like  had an inadequate amount of pixels for the detail I wanted to convey.

Thanks :)

EDIT: I have considered chopping the top off completely... Or even just taking the lower left corner and posting it as finished because that section is complete... Although the only thing holding me back from that is: its kinda lazy. :I really like the dynamic of the Seperation. I removed the evil dudes because I feared that some may get it twisted.
