wipfighterspriteyay

This is for a fightin' game, not just a stand-alone sprite, so please keep that in mind when giving crits [if you don't already]. I'd like to keep it possible to animate. ;)
This character's going to be full of tattoos, but I'd like him to look good before I add them. Thus lowering the likelyhood of someone pointing out an error that I'd have to redo the tattoos to fix.

Back looks like pecs.
Back from hiatus, just remembered how excellent this community is at forming technique in a fledgeling artist of any kind.

The two lines for his shoulder blades remind me of  >:(.  Maybe you could make them less harsh somehow....
Hard to judge the rest of the lines because it depends on how you do the pants and stuph. Will have to wait for that....
Man cannot remake himself without suffering for he is both the marble and the sculptor.

I've gotten that comment before. Any advice on how to fix it, or maybe an example of sorts?

There are lack of back muscule structure, missing shoulder, right hand is short, fist is good to give a flowers, not for a hit - should be turned fingers down, strange lineart of left hand...
Check a general anatomy, it should help.=)
Setting your light sourse lower would make it easier to work on muscule texture.

Maybe smth like that - just for a clue, I've tryed to fix a bit but I ain't a muscule fan.=)

Not really the update, just a random pixel doodle and an over-AA'ed version. Started reading some anatomy books and'll hopefully be able to apply 'em in the edit. Loomis FTW.

Nice. My main concern with the first image was the spine not being defined.. this basically covers that.
I quite like the light skin tones.
