Looks solid to me.
Only thing is the brown is rather wasted. Can barely pick it out from the black. Could dump it for four colours and save some sprites.

Really? It jumps out for me. Either your or my monitor is badly calibrated?

I think that might just be Pixen... it's also looking close to black for me and now I look at it the skin colour is different on two animations.

Pixen outputs sprite sheets with correct colours but looks like it's gif making is lacking.

Re-exported from Photoshop, the sprites will be shown quite large on screen, maybe 4x, I'm happy to drop the brown if it's not doing anything at that size.

dude your monitor is def having issues if that brown jumps out at you. its brown with a luminance of 20 (edit. 28)

@hawken its a bit lighter now, still quite dark indeed

I can also barely see the brown color when it's in original size. It's definitely about monitor preferences, so you have to find compromise between these two cases so it can look appealing to everyone.

Luminance 28 should be clearly visible, no? Are you telling me that a well calibrated monitor is supposed to swallow the first 28 levels of luminance?

I'll have to do a calibration test to make sure.

no, just that 28/255 is really dark, particularly when its brown(inherent luminance). of course you can inspect it closely and see its a different colour, but if it has enough contrast that it 'jumps out' at you then maybe your monitor has a problem like you suggested

The photoshop version is much more clear, and looks good to me.

I agree with the general critique that the brown is too dark to be caught in original size. But I guess you'll show it at x2 or even x4 (because with resolutions these days, it's almost a must), so the issue will be smaller.

In regards to the animation, I feel it's too jumpy. It's hard for me to read the position of either leg at any given time...
