Caste in the Sky Golem

on: December 28, 2014, 10:13:16 pm
A sprite request from someone during a Skype screenshare.
Can't remember the movie so I probably didn't capture the character right but did what I could in the time I had.

That's a golem from Laputa, right? Looks pretty cool, though the proportions are off :)

Actually I'd seen the face but couldn't work out how to sqeeze any more detail without increasing the head size and ruining the proportions.
Any ideas other than upping the overall sprite size?

Good question. You could squeeze in a little more detail I think, or you could go the route of deformation and slightly deviating from the proportions to make the design clearer at that size. I'll try to make an edit later to show what I mean.
