Pixel Animation Utillity

on: November 01, 2014, 03:56:49 pm
Hello, just made this little helper app for editing your pixel animations.

It works like this:

Load frames of your animation as single images into the application. Load them in the order you want, first to last. Next, hit the animate button to view your image frames animate. You can zoom in and out, add more images, stop the animation and step frame by frame.

The reset button stops the animation and removes all images.

But the part that is really useful is when you check the "auto update"-checkbox at the bottom of the menu. With this checked and the animation running you can edit each frame in another program, for example Paint, just save the image in Paint and it will appear in the application. This makes it really easy to make smooth animations.

Try it out! Load a couple of blank images and create an explosion or a worm crawling from one end to the other.

Its a  Windows application that will run on Windows machines with .Net installed.

When Auto update is enabled you can edit an image "live" in for example Paint. Just overwrite the old image (press Ctrl + S, thats all).

Edit: Here's a version that will run on Win XP: http://minfil.org/R8Mcgeb3b7/PAULTXP.rar
