[Wip] Redhead girl

on: September 21, 2014, 06:02:57 pm
I returned after 4 months to try again anatomy.
I'm not using any reference, since the aim is to test what I learned.
The image will probably need a background since she's supporting herself with something.
Sketch

WIP

The sketch seems a lot better and some parts in the Wip are exaggerated.  lol
I'll appreciate every suggestion.

Anyway, I want to thank Cyangmou for last time help.

The way everything translates horizontally without bending is impossible. The pelvis at least must bend, and likely the shoulders, in the opposite direction.
Something's wrong with the neck / head too: short neck? Not aligning with the spine? Both?

Currently the sketch looks much better than the final drawing.
This is because the structure you gave it with the sketch vanished in the final illustration.
But also the sketch has some beginner mistakes, like to wide shoulders, a too big head, too long arms, to long torso etc.
TO get this right it's crucial to work a lot from reference first and get how proportions have to look in you.

The most effective step to practice that is to practice the first 2 steps.
This is also what I'd recommend you to practice.
All the anatomy builds on that.
