I like the idea and approach. I actually think the water tile tool seems like a legit base to start from even for pixel artists that like to do stuff by hand.

Yeah, pretty cool stuff. Optionally generated things can be very useful indeed as starting seed to a large work, inspiration and assisted workflow. However, imo it's pretty much the last point on the list after getting everything else right about a craft. And I think there's still a lot left to be done right otherwise--for me anyway, the more I get right, the less it seems necessary, whereas most of all the voxel space often very much depends on it, because of the incredibly huge workload; but I think priorities have been not what they should be. At any case, watching things generate is immensely satisfying for a coder to toy with, so I'll have my own stab at this as well at some point, for the hell of it.
