Assimilation of Art

on: May 30, 2014, 08:15:43 pm

I am RAV. Lower your quarrels and surrender your gallery.
I will add your creative distinctiveness to my clusters of cubes.
Your culture will adapt to service me. Resistance is futile.

Cool man.
You programmed this right?
Can I play with it?

Drone, designation PPD, confirmed. Assignment at cross-junction 12B, section 18737T. Be efficient.

You programmed this right?
Yeah. I still have lots on my to-do list, it's as long as the moon is far, the coolest stuff is yet to be revealed.

Can I play with it?
I'd be honoured, pal. I am looking forward to see real dudes do real stuff that I can analyze to forward research.

I'm not exactly sure how I want to go about releases yet. Remember our talk about new activities and sections?
You know, I thought it would be cool to relive the historical progress of pixelart in the third dimension.
Explore how we'd have gone about the same art in an alternate reality of it.

whoa whoa whoa there, Notch!

What is this thing?

Intended purpose?

What are your end-goals?

Seems to have a ton of potential. NICE work.

GitHub works pretty well.
Or if you want to make some money you could go for Steam Early Access.
They accept software these days.

Hey there buddies. So the idea is to hang around and chew bubblegum. I don't know man, we'll figure something out, eh. playfully. :-)

Right now it's a visualizer, a simulated holoscreen. Basically it's a next gen cluster medium on massive scale and collaboration, which fits any style of pixel art or voxel art. A 3d modeling and world creation tool easy to learn but hard to master, like pixel art is. Something most of your hard earned pixel art skills and workflows will translate to. It could be used for just creating 2d assets too for your own engine of choice, generated from your library of assets in this format, giving you a lot of flexibility in deployment across kinds of games. It's also good for just a lot of stupid pointless fun, a joytoy to this art. It's my anti-thesis to how Minecraft goes about content and treats pixel art, and the proof of concept on my understanding of it. With any luck this would inspire a correction of the genre across industry and give more job opportunities to pixel artists. But maybe it's just a crazy pipedream and failed experiment that' s good for a couple activities around here and some laughs.
