Animation Challenge #4

on: July 23, 2006, 07:31:22 pm
Okay, so I'm hoping this'll pick up some momentum sooner or later. Again, if you've got any good topic ideas, please PM them to me. They don't even need to be anything concrete, just a general idea of what you'd like to see would be just as useful.

Today's topic is brought to you by Lick.
Topic: "--Suddenly s/he burst into tears!"
Portrait/Facial animation again.
Lineart or rendered.
64 x 64.
No frame limit this time, either.

Feel free to post WIPs or ask questions!

Much better!

I tried to capture that ugly face that everyone gets when they cry.

Suddenly huh? Ok.

Nice break from the tiles I'm working on.

Xion: Lookin' good. Not many dare to do that face. Like the fact that I still see it's the same person.

Hm.. Noticed that her ears and ponytail aren't moving with her head. Bot a big factor though.

Why, snake, why?

...

Why what?

Lick: Your not going to get any better by talking about it. Just start animating. If you feel it looks bad, we'll take a look at it and whip you till you understand why.  ;)

;_; Once again I misread the rules. You'd think I'd learn to be more careful, but nope.

LOL mccow! That is really nice. Makes me smile in a very happy way.

snake: ah yes, but I don't have time and I'm focussing more on programming right now (I switch between art and code too often!)

Fixed, I think.

O' dearest Animation. It's been far too long. (I might add tears, though I probably won't.)

absolutely beautiful.

hmm... it's kind of odd how the outline of the head (or pretty much everything besides the actual face) doesn't move at all when the face is.  the way he's making these expressions, his hair, forehead, ears, etc would all be affected.

Monsoon: Pretty to look at, but I don't know. I kind of get the impression that he's saying something like "Nja nja nja!" at the end rather than crying. Everything up to that is great though. Now you just need to add movement to the rest of the head too ;)

You should tilt the head up and enlarge the mouth! And yes, tears would be nice. The colors and face elements ROCK! Nice work! It breaks the monochrome entry pattern we have been following!  ::)

Still a WIP...

Thinking of making him inhale/sniff as the face is whipping back up rather than whatever its doing right now...
