Before you move on, please make the hand bigger, it's super tiny at the moment.

I don't believe that hand is connected to the body, I think its just part of the background. If you knew that then my bad. It would look sort of cool to have that as a bigger compositional element

Hey, glad to help. Great progress.

Rimlights were a thing I just was gonna add to the edit. Beat me to it

Aside from what everyone else said, a few more cents with the time I have.

The shading looks alright. But like you said, looks plastic, so there are ways it could be improved.

Just basically replaced the colors, erased the 2 lightest colors and redrew those. Also added reflected lighting in the metal.

Added quick examples. Demonstrates overlap.

The shading you have (1) is a lot more similar to metal or plastic (2).
Meat/muscle is a lot darker/saturated like (3).
Realistically the texturing is different. Highlights are displaced by sinew, etc. to the point of being diffused (4).
That texturing you can just minimally suggest. But it's important that you do that kind of stuff, so we know that this monster guy is basically skinned.

Also, AA'd hand in the background?

Thanks for all the replies everyone!

Since I still have so much to do I'm going to just mark this one as "good enough" even though I didn't get the muscle tendon aspect of it correctly. I have plenty of other pieces to do where I can challenge myself to rending some tendons. I'm going to open a new thread for the project as a whole since so that I can include everything else.

To answer a couple of questions:
1) The hand is not part of the character
2) The AA hand is just a placeholder

Big thanks pistachio and fellow pixelers! You guys are the best!  :y:
