Working on another playable character sprite for Erde:

I love this sprite size to work with.

Ah, yeah, I assume the smudgeguard will prevent further deterioration too, except for from the pen itself. I'm tempted to peel off the original coating (they actually replaced it in the winter when I sent it in for repairs, but I destroyed it in 6 months again) with an off brand one that isn't as grainy. I was also using one of those microfiber cloths for glasses to clean it about twice a day, and a clorox wipe every day before work, but whatever else I was doing caused the entire middle area to have a rough feeling from just using it all day. I suppose in your case, never touching the screen with your hand has preserved it... But I also wonder, how often do you change your nibs?

Every time I draw, it's as if I'm wiping the screen, technically.

But that's the other strange thing. I've only ever used three nibs- In other words, I never change them unless one day I think I kind of have to, for who knows what reason. The last one, I changed it to an older white nib, because I like how it looks on the black pen.

@Vagrant: Thanks for the feedback  :y:, I agree that the current cloud setup is too noisy. I plan to redraw them more sparse and closer to the horizon and see how it looks. The backgrounds are in a rough state atm, I wanted to try out some experiments before I commit to them fully.

@ yaomon17: Nice animation  ;D

WIP:
Played around with some of the background and foreground timings, etc. Lots of still unfinished.

@Vagrant and @Atnas
I'd like to ask a few questions if I may.
May I ask what a smudgeguard and a sliding cushion is? i've honestly never heard of them before!

@yokai
You put it under the side of your hand when drawing, traditionally to avoid smudging your drawing, though in this case it is to prevent you from rubbing out your tablet (or however you phrase it).

@vagrant
Thx, I do miss the old Flipnote Hatena days of the old DS Phat.

@yokai

just anything that acts as a barrier between skin and the cintiq, because if your hand sticks to the tablet, it means you cant draw with your arm, and kind of have to pivot around on sticky flesh.

I bought the 2 finger version from this site: http://www.smudgeguard.com/

Vagrant just uses a microfiber cloth folded up under his hand like the kind that they give you when you get glasses.
