and here's a progress of most of it, recording this can help me spot what im doing backwards and should fix as far as process goes.

Also a wip concept from a sprite. fun to invent details from pixels rather than shoving details into pixels.

@Ambivorous: impressive undertaking, looks like you could add a lot more purply-pink tones in there next time

Yeah I was just so overwhelmed that I missed a lot of colours, but at least I learned that without all those reds my drawing looks much less dry than the reference image.
I like the idea of drawing details from sprites - think I'll try that some time.
How do you record your drawing btw?

More cool dresses, Wolf. Where do you get the ideas from?

My faces are finally starting to look like the people I'm drawing from! :o But I still have no idea what the important parts are for recognising faces.

That reminds me of the idea I had the other day to design things from a bunch of Unicode symbols. Like the amazing art for Ultima Ratio Regum, except that in URR's case it's actually the final artwork.

If you insist on being pessimistic about your own abilities, consider also being pessimistic about the accuracy of that pessimistic judgement.

Couldn't draw on pc today, so a scan instead:

I am planning on attempting to put into practice the things I am learning.
Just trying to work out how I'm going to do my composition first. Any thoughts?

from memory, earlier today. spurred by the words "I look like one of the girls you draw in your sketchbooks now"

Edit: i forgot to reply to people
@Ai: actually it's Mangastudio, with a watercolor brush I made.
@Ambivorous: I recorded it with LICEcap, and then used some website to shrink the size/speed it up
@Boron: Thanks I'll fix that.

Yuletide Hetzer! (the little evergreen on roof isn't showing well, ought to be darker...)
