It's an allegory for the character evolution, more specifically how good he looks now. His moon is bigger and smoother~
(I'm just making up shit to make a butt joke, don't mind me)

I started a personal challenge for myself at the beginning of the year to do a 16x16 piece of pixel art everyday. Here's what I did for January!

@PixelPileDriver: Thx! ('tis the petscii charset).

@Ai: Thx for your input. I am currently not concerned with finishing/polishing things, just trying to gain momentum, get into a habit of regular pixelling/doodleing to fight depression and get motivated, so stuff I post in this thread is very unlikely to receive any refinement from me.

Conversation with myself:
"What does every game need to be a good game?"
"..."
"Right! That's it!"
"A schizophreniac."

Hence, I made one

Character's personalities would be more visible ingame with dialogue, animations and surroundings

I dig the calendar setup.
Smart.

That Moonman!  :y:

Hope you're pleased with the texturing in your latest post

Hotdang PPD that last piece is gorgeous.
Thanks.  :blind:
It's getting closer to what I want to do with that process.
I need to do a bunch more pieces this way and explore its potential.

And agreed.
Those look dope.
Hope that goes with the animations you posted before.
Cuz I really liked those as well.

oh man..... great.
what does he throw in his mouth tho?

my observations of it's proportions can get hilariously out of wack. I actively zoom out references for this reason.
Yah definitely.
Stepping back from art and seeing the entire canvas at once is important.
It's always good to have 2 or 3 views going at once.
But getting lost in a tiny portion as you clean it up is important too.
Try drawing with a grid on, even if you are not using it for size restrictions.
It helps to focus on an isolated part of the image when needed.
