Between freelancing evenings and game jam weekends, I'm doing a little character design researches for a side-project.

Ellian! I've been catching up a few pages around about, and the plumbing platformer and worm lady just before really tickled me.

I do feel on most of these pieces that they could easily look better, just without the internal dark outlines and faint AA.

Ugh I'm always overdoing it with AA, huh? 
As for internal outlines (wait, that doesn't make any sense XD) I try to only use them when I need to show a real separation and break it with lighter colors when not (kinda like the cap in my current avatar) but sometimes I just forgot / am lazy / make poor choices. 
But thanks for pointing this out.

Ah, I didn't mean for you to have to defend how you do things in a casual thread ; just having seen a bunch of your stuff at once, seemed like things you might have been doing out of habit, unnecessarily.
 
I meant the AA seemed so low contrast as not to be that useful really; which I guess would encourage extra too.
