I was thinking about making a thread for this sketch I've been making for a few days but then I remembered this!  :P .

Not too sure about the path, I think it looks a lot better without it, but what kind of village doesn't have a road to it. Story behind the image is that some sort of mounted warrior (coming soon) is returning home to his village but finds it burning, I know, #cliche

Drawing for the first time in ages definately reminds me of my nemisis in pixel art. Refining.  :blind:

Since this is the Daily Sketch, I guess I'll start with a group of sketches I got done in a day.
Still got like 200 drawings left of these to do... Could get it done in a night if I had a night.
Turns out this was true! I decided I wanted these done before I left to see family briefly, so I could finally use my sketchbook for something else. I did the following 40 pages the day before I left:

(Was a few days ago, though. Didn't have time to scan them all then!)
And I'll link the animated result of the compilation of the frames, because together they're around 7 MB  ;)
Kareen Dancing
Stigma
Compiling the frames is not quite a sketch, but it's what I did today.

Thanks again to Larry Mock for allowing me to reference (nsfw: nudity) Kareen Dancing to Native American Flute.
And thanks again to Shikeith Cathey for allowing me to reference (nsfw: nudity) STIGMA.

Edit: Eh, since even the static compilation is animated, here's a neat static page from each:

I make actual NES games. Thus, I'm the unofficial forum dealer of too much information about the NES

I was a little too ambitious today it seems. Way too many distractions in this image.
Lots of drunk shapes and incorrect values, but still way better than I used to be - even on my bad ones.

Does anyone know any good pixel art studies to do? Given how effective this study is, I'd love to start doing some.
I used to think I was getting the hang of this pixel art thing, but now I can see that I didn't actually understand a lot of it, I was just getting better at copying others (coming up with new, original stuff I find tricky).

Hey guys, you're slacking with the dailies.

Love those colors, Surt.
The moutains and the rock are a little off compared to everything else though. Something with the colors not being as vivid, and/or the shapes too detailled maybe?
