after real live studies I don't trust Bammes that much any more...
also played around with a different approach to construct a skull.

A little more work for the upcoming pony convention...

And the readability of the new ones are killing me  :ouch:

was playing around to find a good pelvis construction approach - but will check it again against real life ones.

Was also drawing the major body masses of the skeleton out of imagination, still some issues left to be caught, but it starts to look ok.

Another Car. It's real loose and sketchy but I like the design:

Edit:
Kept penciling and drew a face, going for a vintage look:

I appreciate the suggestion Mathias, but it's just work for a class so I'm not going to take it to it's own thread and work into it when I'm not so invested in it anyway  :)
. . .
It's often better to leave old stuff behind and forge ahead. Don't dwell. So, wise thinking, I'm sure.
That looks like a healthy sketch habit you've got going there.

@ tim   Great sense of melancholy in that. Lovely!

@ Atnas   Whoa, man. Some chaotic energy going on in that clown piece. That would look so cool printed at like 3' x 3'.

@ Grimsane   Hey Grims, glad you could join us.

@ Cyangmou   You're killin' me with those anat diagrams.

@ ||||   On your wine night lady painting, I really like the nose and mouth area. Too bad the whole thing didn't get that sort of attention to contour/shape. I know it's WIP.
On your sketch, I think you did achieve a decent vintage look. Reminds me of Audrey Hepburn or something.

Toons are still killing me. But I think I'm gaining ground.

Today a Glitch model from Starbound. I've been fighting with the weighting of the vertexes to make poses etc.

@tim The colors are very good on the face, it gives an atmospheric look to the picture. On a glance I thought it was a 3d render because of it. c:

@Mathias, you seem to be getting better. Tapering the fingertips gives a slightly creepy/alien-like vibe to the hand combined with missing pinky, consider whether that's what you want.
In the full-body picture the character looks a little bit dazed, it's a good idea to connect the iris/pupil to either the upper or lower lid (upper lid looks more natural) so they don't have a constant wide-eyed gaze. :O

Edit: Added an animation + fixed the textures + added an incandescence map.

foot construction, only knee is left, but I actually know quite well how that one looks, and maybe I should also look how Bammes actually simplified the bones of the fingers and toes.
Then it's skeleton practice time =)

speed scribble from today, about half hour, and a progressive gif,
my dad came in during it and said he could see the head of a lion, i couldn't but it changed into this bear because of that lol

is there a general time limit when sketches are no longer sketches? :P this one took an hour or so
10-30-60+

and hope it's okay to dump other really recent sketches in here?

I got a few thumbnail studies i'll post if i get a nod

@mathias Cheers ;D glad to be joining

btw Ymedron you can try Weights > assign automatic from bones, I find it works 9 times out of 10 without needing clean up especially on lower res meshes like this,
hope you don't mind but i reckon that model might look more spiffy with something more like these kinda proportions  c:

Grimsane: Yeah I did that at first, but it was too troublesome to fix around unweighting the rigid light gray parts (as they're supposed to be metallic and thus not move at all) so I just went manually weighting the edgeloops.
I had never done manual weighting before so it was a good learning experience.

Those proportions do seem better, I'll play around with the model a bit more.
