Trying to get back into digital painting with some self portraits.

First one is 10 minutes from memory, which... eugh.  :'(

Next is a 30 minute painting with a photo, much better.

Still some subtlety to the expression I can't seem to capture, but it's an improvement.  :)

@Atnas: Thanks for advice and motivation man! Still working on that digital painting.

I wanted to improve the composition but I had no idea what elements I could add without ruining it.

Heyyy! I can try my best to help you and stuff for the colors. Honestly coloring can be a difficult thing-
Especially with skin since finding colors with skin that can make it really pop out as to say-

Firstly since your pixel size is a bit small I think the kinda shading that you did do was pretty spot on of course I think for since a small pixel like that it can be pretty difficult to shade with colors so close to each other without making them look all blended-

I think I would pick colors that are just maybe a bit different not too different but perhaps a bit brighter to be able to distinguish them-
I would also recommend to follow your light source as it seems a bit off on the left arm leaning down as well as its fingers.
Your shoulders and chest area is also missing a proper light source.

And for your hair I would recommend some sort of highlights?

Also I'd like to know the concept for the eyes im curious  :)

I hope this helps!

A2J2TIWARI: I really like that.
Pizza Tom: Very nice! Making me want to do some quick paintings!

Wasn't trying for a streak, but I guess I'm on one. Guests this weekend, so can't draw from my less than tasteful ref. Here's some of what I drew today.

Imagination. The final page in a sketchbook.

Imagination. The first pages in a new sketchbook.

Construction stuff. Not all successful, but I am doing it:

Our guest brought a dog. So here's some brush pen doodles from imagination, plus the dog trying to sleep:

Sorry for the lack of a sketch, but do you guys know of any free drawing programs with pressure sensitivity for Graphic Tablets?

MyPaint
Krita
GIMP
Inkscape, if vectors is what you want.

Probably others (Drawpile? And some pixelling programs like MTPaint support pressure sensitivity). That's just off the top of my head. I use all four of the ones I listed at the top.

If you insist on being pessimistic about your own abilities, consider also being pessimistic about the accuracy of that pessimistic judgement.

Thank you,Yokai90.
I was thinking about the chest/shoulder shading just now.
I will let the hair for later,i'm scared of hair shading haha, about
the eyes i dont know if i do then closed or something like it was now,
its sort of a meditating/enlightened guy connecting with space/cosmos
and that kind of stuff.
I've done some progress, starting to figure better colors i think.
