Noob pixel art [Need tips]

on: December 21, 2013, 03:59:47 pm
Hey! Good day!

My name is Alex and I am game programmer and three days ago I became pixel artist (khm... noob pixel artist).

Here is my three days 32*32 work:

( both books and character I'm redraw from somewhere. )

My issue is - something wrong here. Can you tell me what exactly?
+ as you can see I have big problem with drawing people and animate them. I just can't understand HOW. It's hard to explain :(

Maybe some tips to turn from evil side ? Or some awesome tuts ?

The general problem in your art is having too much dithering and too many colors.

Some of the shading doesn't make sense, like that one open book

So dithering...

But the heart has too much colors then book. The book has 4 main colors ( the white color on top of page is just experiment).

In any case - thanks. Now I see, some sprites have too muck colors.

Anyone else?  :)
