Sexiness is subjective, of course.

I recently started this mug shot of FFV's Faris Sherwiz, based on Amano's artwork of here.
My biggest concern, and what pushed me to post this is the problems I'm having getting the hair to look like hair.
Any C+C would be appreciated

My first thought on this was her chin is a protuding a bit too much so probably need to work on that overall jawline.
Then I thought it looked unnatural for the pony tail to explode out in one piece when tied so low, and noticed on the following reference they also tie it a touch higher.

The nose is a kinda bulbous and droopy to my eyes.
Eyes are dismissive, not very seductive.
She can probably use some fringe strands on other side of face too

Certainly much better than my first draft, through still sloppy in certain places.
It also occurred to me that it looks like GBA fire emblem's mugshots. The proportions, it's a bust, etc.
I feel like I should mention that was unintentional.

Here's a hair idea.  Not sure about the pony tail, tho I kind of like the way you had it. 
Played with a few pixels on the face too.

The face looks too flat, and I think you have too many colors, especially on the skin, also the jacket has two very dark blues which don't have enough contrast between them to contribute anything to the pic. A quick edit on the face to illustrate:
