What's the point of this, again?

you can accurately repixel the background using about 10 colors.

Yes, I do like the idea, but that bear is kinda creepy...I think it would be cool to have some more interaction with the photo, though. Like, having something climb up from behind that cliff thing...or have a tugboat going beneath the bear's legs. Did you copy those colors from what was already there? If so, try challenging yourself by matching the atmosphere with your own colors.
Never mind.

Interesting concept nonthelesssss...
I think I'll give it a try.

sequels are inevitably crap.

@Rodahue: Thanks, i should have really included the photo in the original post :-X
@Rox: I am a strong believer that art doesn't need a point other than the enjoyment of the artist, i enjoyed this, thus the point ;)
@Skull: Feel free to steal the idea, i was subconsciously inspired by matte paintings i think.
@Helm: I think the demosceners did a fine job of exactly copying thier references in pixels :D
@Silver: I can't really take credit from the colours as i used ones already present in the photo :)
@Xion: I saw your magnificent piece in the creativity thread. I'll definitley have more interaction in the next one.
@Alex: Thanks, your pixels always get me hot and bothered.
thanks Dogmeat!

Then I will steal the idea.  :D
I like the second image, it's good, but you've faded an outline on it.. so it looks like one of thos poorly done PSD cutters..
See, the white-ish outline comes natural to the tree branches, down to light (?) but doesn't seem to work on the sprite itself.
