.......? I only see a little extra contrast on the hair in that one, aside from that Faceless only took away contrast.

do you mean saturation? :p

I am not quite fond of the way he did the skin either, takes away some depth from it, I'd use some more pink on it too..give that a try

TakaM, I definitely gotta say this before I speak what I think about the sprite, your a lucky guy.
Anyway onto the sprite. I like the new lighting on it and it makes it alot brighter and gives it a bit more of a positive atmosphere. One thing that is bothering me is the neck which seems like its missing some crucial parts cause right now it just seems really long. Other than that its a very good portrait and I'm sure your girlfriend will be flattered  ;D

I think the neck thing is mostly an optical ilusion, the long straight hair going down and the fact the shoulders blend into the background make it seem longer than what it actually is, when you see the pic in a dark background you can see the distance between the jaw and the shoulders is normal.

I think the lighting works fine now, now it just depends on how satisfied with it you are =)

Looks brilliant so far. She's smiling, so the bright colours work really well here.  :)
