(c+c) Advice needed

Hey, I am working on a 2d mmorpg and I need some advice and opinions on my Weapons / Base sprite I have so far.



edits are indeed welcome to show me visually where I need to improve at.

It might just be me but it's very hard to help or give critique just based on a sheet. We could get into banding / line shapes or what not but I'm not sure that's really the kind of critique you're looking for. :P

One thing I would say is that in some areas (like the very last item on the bottom right) lacks *something* that helps me determine what the item is. Perhaps it's contrast, or perhaps the outline is kind of drowning it out for me. I'm not sure, but I still can't figure out what that is. :(

Another thing is the arms. It looks like they're flat at his side when he walks but typically we swing our arms (unless we're ladies, ahem) as we walk or stroll.

Otherwise, everything looks alright to me. The sprites and items look very generic--but that's good, if that's what you're going for!

I like your little design you got going on here, but I might suggest a little banding here and there to really let the items and characters pop.
I tried my hand at it here for you:
