Time for a new Off-Topic Thread, right? 2014

I do web dev. How can I help revise the forum skin?
I'm soooo sick of this default theme. By now, it's a crime. I'd pay money to have miascugh's theme back. Too bad it's not compatible anymore.

Hehe, well, shouldn't the thread title be "Official Off-Topic Thread 2013-2014" or something denoting the correct time range? I wasn't sure what the reason for this thread originally was, anyway. Guess the other off-topic threads were getting to be too long?

(Secret Santa sign-up banner still up.)

PM'ed response. I'm really hopin' we can get a better skin going.

I have been trying to go from pixelart to another art form, mostly vector animation, yet I don't know any tutorial, or where to start, and how to pass it from vector to an image format to make it useable any tutorial you know guys  :blind:?

All the art guys I know in social games draw the assets in Illustrator, then import into Flash for animating.  Usually a two man job (one specialising in illustrating in illustrator and the other animating in Flash) tbh, and both programs have a steep learning curve and lots of esoteric knowledge required, but they're popular enough to find tutorials.  Good luck!

Okay, so this is pretty random, but I'm running out of places to ask. There's a game that says, "Break time!" in an upbeat, female, slightly robotic voice when you pause it. (Possibly under another circumstance?) It has been bugging me since I thought about it, and I have no clues beyond this. I don't even know if it's a platformer, fighting game, or whatever.

I thought it was Mischief Makers or Pocket Fighter, but it seemingly isn't. If anyone happens to know offhand, I would VERY much appreciate knowing.

Try Feel the Magic, Rub Rabbits, or maybe Viewtiful Joe.
Not really sure but I'll give it some thought.

YOOOOO!!! I just thought of it. Super Tetris 3! I've been distracted thinking about it for the past five hours and it just came to me. Thanks for giving it a shot, PPD.

It's amazing how such a small part of a game can be so memorable...

I also thought of Viewtiful Joe. Also Space Channel 5. Had to try them and look. Female voice in Joe goes "just go for it!" at the start of a stage, but pause and game over are all narrated by a male voice ("take five!" / "cut, cut, cut!"). Space Channel 5 was completely silent.

Good thing you found out what it was, else I would have to keep thinking about it too. ;)
