Boyscout character test

on: November 26, 2012, 02:21:43 am
Hello, actually i'm newbie in pixel art. I've plan with my friends to creating a game. I tested it with the looking of the character first, i just need feedback what your opinion from this picture. This is for character mock up test for the game, inspired by Dragonica Online and FF III.

Thanks.

Pretty cool! I like the design. I made a color edit, as right now the colors seem a bit dull. I like having the main character really pop. As for the shape, I think the right (our right) arm is too short and it looks like the metal band encases his elbow preventing it from bending. His feet are also really tiny. Keep up the good work.

Ah, thank you very much for the review, i really appreciate that. But, honestly, the color you using is too much luminosity isn't ?, which is burn my eyes.

Im not anatomy expert but anyway you should learn Hue shifting if you want better colors.
. here is a small example.

I was trying to improve the pallete reducing colours and hue shifting.

Have you ever seen Cure's tutorial?
