Recycled Game Art

on: November 05, 2012, 04:00:41 pm
Hello,

I'm new to the forums and just wondering if I could get some advice.

I'm currently working on a game similar to Legend of Zelda on NES. As an indie game developer, I don't really have the funds to hire a professional artist for custom art and I've been having trouble finding someone who is willing to volunteer. I've searched all over Google and come up short.

Does anyone have any old/recycled art they would like to see used in another game? I know that a handful of people on the forums work on similar games and I would hate to see all of that good artwork go to waste!

 ;D

OpenGameArt.org is the place to start. Personally while I've done some tiles, no overhead style tiles like LoZ uses come to mind offhand.
If you insist on being pessimistic about your own abilities, consider also being pessimistic about the accuracy of that pessimistic judgement.
