(WIP) RPG NPCs

on: October 01, 2012, 02:33:46 pm
Hello everyone. I am currently working on an RPG game and making characters for it. At the moment I am stuck at few animations.

I have to make rabbit run animation(north, south, east and west) and I am unable to make them properly. I've also made slime explosion animation.

This is what I've done so far:

Please help me improve these.

Thanking everyone in advance.

I played around with your bunny a bit.  I added one more frame to make it a bit more fluid movement.

If this looks okay, I'd like to move on to south and west motion states.

It looks ok, but your N S image does not have the same perspective as the E W image.  I'm not that familiar with RPG's, but a quick google search shows them in all types of perspectives.  Your E W looks more like a side view, where your N S looks more top-down.

Thanks for reply. To be honest, I've been making rpg stuff's east and west views like Platformer only because I am not sure how to bring them in right perspective. Here's my try though:

I am desperate to learn a lot from this thread.

That's still more side view than anything.

I'm not that good at this type of stuff, but here's my humble attempt.  lol

Great sarcasm, haha! Anyways, that was really nice of you to show me how to get it in rpg perspective.

Based on that I made the animation and here are the frames:

The last frame in the last line is the still stand frame and is not part of run animation.

Very nice.  I just put it into my animation program.

I think the rear legs should be longer and it's butt is kind of exaggerated, but I like it.

Yeah, the ears were a bit snappy.  Here's an alternative with longer legs:
