[PAID] Small Character Sprite

on: October 01, 2012, 09:14:00 am
Requirements for the pixel art:

* Game Boy style using 8bit
* 16x16 sprites
* 3 color + alpha palettes
* 4 frame animations
* 3 walking directions: North, East, South

Here's the outline of the sprite:

Feel free to modify the outline.
You're NOT restricted to this outline.
However please do NOT modify it to the shape of familiar sprites.
Such as: Final Fantasy, Pokemon, Sword of Mana, etc.

------

What I'm looking for is edits/adjustments/fill-ins for the body of the sprite (red box highlights area):

If you could, please keep it close to this style:

-------

I'm currently unemployed and in a horrible mess of things, so I can only offer $20 as a result.
I may be able to offer $50, but it'll take a week or two to gather from cutting back food.
Preferably I'd like to buy any games of any amount for whoever finishes this sprite within Steam, under a $20 limit (then gift you your games).
But I'll consider transferring the money in any way that's preferred or recommended.

Please help. Work for this sprite has taken far too long.

I'm confused. You seem to already have everything you're asking for?

I already have the outline, head, and arms of the sprite done, yes.

However, I do not have the legs, or torso area of the sprite colored.
And that is the work/edits I'm looking for, so the sprite can be usable.

Using these three colors:

Did that clear it up a bit?
Or still confusing?

same here. I have the feeling that you're struggling to make your mind on what you actually still need to improve.

Unless (of course), you have the full remaining art content ready and just miss this final part, I strongly suggest you to keep this "could-be-better" hero, and start working on the rest (environment, NPC and monsters). That will give you more experience to review this one later on: what you'll learn on other parts will make you look at your character with a more accurate eye.

Well, "coloring" will have to remain vastly minimal, here, if you want the sprite to remain readable. You have very little place for highlights and stuff. Black jacked/shoes and grey trousers would be my way to go to ensure good readability, for instance.

Oh, and if you definitely want to throw $20 at it, you should post in the "job offers" board, btw.

Well, it's not full content ready (have environment parts that probably need edits and some monster sprites)... But I need this sprite to be finished so I can create other sprites/NPCs.

Really I'm just having trouble getting the inner parts of the sprite to animate correctly.
Which is the Legs and Torso/Shirt parts of the sprite.
Have the basic jist of it, just need it to be finished.

Been working on this single spriteset since March 2012 (earlier this year).
Please check post history on my profile to confirm.
Before that I've been pixeling for close to 2 years.

It's better to outsource a helping hand at this point, because my skills cannot correct this sprite alone.

And thanks, will do.
