Hi Guys! So I'm trying to create a general character template that I can use to make all kinds of different characters (from robots to superheros).
As a test I chose superman as my first char.
I'm very new to pixel art so
1. How do you think I can improve this??
2. Which superman outline looks best?
2. Also how can I get the "cartoon" feel of the heavy outline without...well the outline? I tried a single pixel outline ( the superman on the bottom) and I don't like it for some reason.

http://www.thepocalypse.com/. He uses double pixel outlines on the outer edge of his characters.
