Looks great, but if it wasn't for the basic side of the piece I would probably not know it was a heart, as the texture you applied to the realistic side looks quite odd ^^..

- Might just be me but it slightly looks as if is melting
Just chucked in a nice reference :P

I don't think the intention is to transform it into a realistic heart...  I interpret it more that the pixels themselves are mutating organically?

you both are correct.. basically just made it to provoke some thought as to what it is. Is it something crisp and rigid, or something more? mutation?.. melting.. fractal?.. organic.. something under a microscope?.. i dont know. you tell me.

Awesome. Not feeling the tendrils, but the boils and whatnot are just awesome.

It looks more hairy than veiny. Probably because of all the short dark ones.

But other than that, like everyone said, it looks great. Reminds me of an album cover I did once that was the same general concept.

The tendrils on the top of the right lobe look absolutely cool, though. Try spreading that look all the way around the right half.

this is what it made me think of :lala:

for anyone who doesn't get it the reference, it's a character from the off the hook bizarro comedy cartoon Adventure time, the character Ricardio was loosely based on and voiced by George Takei

(PS: hope you don't mind me desecrating your work  ::))

:O!
weird.. I didn't know adventure time had such a character.

yea.. i began trying to make the edges look torn, but then I just went with the flow and that's what happened. basically just a doodle thing where my mind spaced out for a bit.
