Desert Mockup

Hello, I made some desert tiles months ago and I am looking for feedback on how to improve. ;)

What kind of game is the mockup? The perspective on the cacti and skull are a bit odd. I do like the sand tiles, they are a bit repetitive but I don't think it's detrimental.

It is suppose to be Top Down rpgish. Thanks for the feedback,I now see I have shaded the cactus wrong.

You've drawn your character sprite completely from the side, which is fine for a side-scroller, but not an rpg.
If you place that sprite in your mockup it's going to look like he's lying in the sand sunbathing..

He needs to have the same kind of top down perspective as the cacti does.
