I need some critique on some pixel art I just can't get right. If someone could teach me how to shade I would be grateful. I'm using graphics gale free addition so I can't do it in .gif. It's a basic enemy aircraft by the way.

Try .png and show us. There's no way we can help you with art if we can't see what you're doing wrong.

Other than the shading, which I'll leave for someone else to explain the biggest problem with these is that they're bland as hell. Try find some screenshots of top down shoot 'em ups and study them. They'll help you out a lot.

honestly, those are boring designs.it looks like a toy airplane, or a torpedo, not a ship. also, i had to look at it for a long time to see that the difference between each spite in that sheet is the cockpit.make the design more exciting.
