99+% of the time, I save in psd or jpeg format (as the final image taken from the psd file). Of course, for transparent GIFs I change the image mode from RGB to indexed.
I have heard of Gimp. On another forum I'm on, a lot of the members don't like the program. (I'm really not sure of all the reasons why that is.) Really, I'm kind of afraid to investigate Gimp, because the way my mind works, I'd soon be "trying to Gimp" on Photoshop and "trying to Photoshop" on Gimp with disastrous results all around. (lol)
