[C+C] Random characters

I just started with pixel art and I made two characters (male and female). I need some feedback on what more I can do to them. I want to make them walk and run (actions) so how can i mold the characters cause i am a beginner and I have no skills on doing that.

Your first image of the girl is good. But the boy on the other hand needs some help
- The head is too wide
-  Hips/Legs should be as wide as the chest region
Other than that good start

Thanks for the reply , and yea the head looks wide going to fix this thing when i make a new one. Other then that is there a guide to make a user walk in general?
